Thank you for your desire to help the homeless animals in our area. Our volunteers are the reason we can keep our doors open and take better care of the animals. Whether it’s helping us plan a big fundraiser, socializing the animals, or yard upkeep, everything is greatly appreciated! We are always looking for volunteers to socialize cats, walk dogs, wash dishes, fold laundry, and help with fundraisers.
To begin volunteering we ask that you attend one of our Volunteer Orientations that are held monthly. Our orientation meetings are held in the Community Room at the Neenah Police Department. You will be provided a short history of the shelter, a brief explanation about our policies, and a volunteer coordinator will speak with you about areas you wish to help in. Once you have completed orientation, depending on your area of interest you may need to attend a training class at the shelter. Training days are typically held on the second Sunday following the orientation date.
We do have a Jr. Volunteer Program for children ages 13-16. Members of the Jr. Volunteer program must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian that attended Volunteer Orientation whenever they are volunteering. At this time, older siblings and other family members are not allowed to accompany the child during their volunteer sessions.
Volunteers between the ages of 16-17 years must have parent consent before volunteering. Volunteers are asked to complete a volunteer application and sign a release form.
Please note that this volunteer program is not for people who need to complete court ordered volunteer hours.
